Mixed Media Classes for Kids

Overview

In this fun and dynamic Mixed Media Course, young artists will explore a world of creativity! Over three weeks, we’ll meet once a week to experiment with a wide variety of materials: textiles, paint, wood, carving, block printing, and more. Each class is a new adventure, where kids get to combine different art forms, tell their own stories through their creations, and bring home one-of-a-kind projects each week. Perfect for curious minds and creative explorers!

Our Mixed Media Classes encourage students to think creatively while exploring a variety of artistic styles. Instead of working with just one medium, kids will combine different materials to create artwork full of color, texture, and personality.

Throughout the class, students may work with paint, paper, fabric, textiles, wood, printmaking supplies, and other creative materials. They’ll also learn exciting techniques such as block printing, linocut, collage, texture building, layering, stamping, and surface design. Some projects may include simple wood carving using age-appropriate tools under instructor supervision.

Every class features a new project or technique. As a result, students continue building new skills while creating artwork they can proudly take home. No two classes are exactly alike, making each visit a new creative adventure.

Our Mixed Media Classes are perfect for beginners and experienced young artists alike. No previous art experience is required. Instead, students are encouraged to experiment, explore, and discover what happens when different materials come together.

In addition to learning new art techniques, children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, patience, and confidence. They also improve fine motor skills while expressing their own unique ideas through art.

Most importantly, our instructors create a supportive and encouraging environment where every child can succeed. We believe there is no single “right” way to make art. Instead, we celebrate creativity and individuality in every project.
