Painting Barn Quilts

Barn Quilts are a charming way to add color and design to an otherwise plain structure. Designs are often based on traditional quilt block patterns, including geometric shapes like squares, rectangles, and triangles, and can also include more intricate designs. We have 30 patterns for you to choose from! Choose your pattern from the image below.

IMPORTANT: You must register and choose your pattern by midnight on June 8th so that we can get the patterns traced on your boards.

About Our Barn Quilts

Our barn quilts will be painted on 24″ x  24″ primed and pressure treated plywood. We will use experior paint to create them and apply a semi-gloss sealant when you’ve finished painting them.

Help us expand this wonderful tradition by painting a barn quilt of your very own!

History of Barn Quilts

The history of the barn quilt spans nearly 300 years beginning with immigrants from central Europe. They were initially used as navigational aids for travelers, but have since evolved into a form of public art that preserves regional heritage.

You can also look up barn quilt trails, which is driving tour, featuring barn quilts mounted on barns, buildings, signs and fences, showcasing local culture, history, and art. Barn quilt trails are relaxing and fun, and they are a great excuse to get you up and outside, exploring your surroundings.   FIND BARN QUILT TRAILS HERE
