Drawing is very cathartic and calming. It can help with anxiety, stress and even depression. It also boosts confidence and self-esteem. Art is also known to improve resilience, reasoning and even memory in older adults.

Art Business News wrote, “Several studies have highlighted art classes link the aesthetic sense to a notable increase in the generally positive mood of people. It improves their physical and psychological well-being. Offering students the opportunity to create art allows them to access their need to express themselves. Art helps reduce stress, improve memory, and develop a sense of being connected to the world around us.”

We have many art examples to choose from to use for inspiration or you can choose your own examples from the internet.

Drawing Classes

You’re never too old to learn to paint or draw. Older adults can even experience changes in their verbal communication ability or find difficulty expressing themselves. One of the benefits of painting and sketching is that it offers older adults alternative methods of expressing their emotions and thoughts through their artwork.

Also, self-expression can allow older people to be more social with their caregivers, relatives, and loved ones. Art classes with other adults promotes friendships and expressing their minds through painting may even unlock a hidden passion.
